Why Work with Me?

As both an actor and director, I understand both sides of the audition table: the vulnerability of presenting your work and the discernment required to evaluate it. I bring strong artistic instincts, passionate opinions, and an exacting attention to detail to every session. I can pinpoint what is holding an actor’s work back and, just as importantly, communicate it in a way that is specific, actionable, and tailored to how that individual artist works. I have coached and directed actors who have gone on to Broadway shows and National and International Tours. Drawing primarily from the techniques of Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, and Stanislavski, my work focuses on developing an actor’s imagination, empathy, and rigorous observation of daily life and human emotion to build strong technique. I have taught students ages 5–95, from working professionals to complete beginners and curious explorers. My coaching goes beyond preparing a successful audition. I challenge actors to respect the rigor of the craft and to become deeply curious about themselves, the world around them, and what it means to be human. I aim to instill the belief that a love for acting begins with a respect for the technique of acting—and that this curiosity cultivates a hunger for great art and helps actors become intelligent, discerning artists capable not only of booking the next role, but of making meaningful contributions to the art form itself. Because, as Sondheim understood, “God is in the details.”
